The time has finally come for the return of the Gods of Epic Metal – the mighty MANILLA ROAD !!! Nearly a decade after their previous album “The Circus Maximus”, MANILLA ROAD strike back with a classic masterpiece of typical old-school 80s Epic Metal.

MANILLA ROAD was formed in the year of Our Lords 1977 by Mark “The Shark” Shelton. Throughout the years, the band forged a new, avant-garde style of Metal music; MANILLA ROAD was one of the first bands to ever coin the phrase Epic Metal, and they are regarded by many as the one and only True Kings of Epic Heavy Metal. MANILLA ROAD started releasing albums in 1980; their discography is quite extensive and still growing with the release of their newest effort “Atlantis Rising” on Iron Glory Records.

The entire back catalog of MANILLA ROAD is seeing re-release through various labels all over the world. At the end of 2001 we’ll be coming up with reissues of their all time classics “Out Of The Abyss” and “Courts Of Chaos", as well as their last album before the break, “Circus Maximus”, and their early works “Metal” and “Invasion”. The early material was originally put out through the band’s own label Roadster Records, Inc., while from 1984 on, they worked with French Black Dragon Records.

MANILLA ROAD has played all over the United States throughout all those years, and in the year 2000 finally set foot on old world soil and played at the Bang Your Head !!! open air festival in Germany, getting overwhelming response from fans having come from all over the world to see the band performing there.

Now in 2001, we from Iron Glory Records proudly present MANILLA ROAD as a new signing after last year’s very successful re-release of “Crystal Logic”; their new album “Atlantis Rising” is the most sprawling and adventurous Epic Metal masterpiece that MANILLA ROAD has ever created. As the album title suggests, “Atlantis Rising” is a concept album, destined to become a legendary cult-classic in Metal history. The album contains ten tracks which combine all the typical trademarks that define the unique style of MANILLA ROAD. Similar to their classic albums, the band has created a perfect synthesis between heavy, agressive tracks like the opening ‘Megalodon’ and ‘Decimation’ and epic killer cuts like the title track, ‘Sea Witch’ or ‘Flight Of The Ravens’. “Atlantis Rising” is an album that will certainly belong to the most essential Epic Metal works for all times.
