Stranger-Pretty Angels

Iron Kobra-Battlesword

Iron Kobra is a German 80ties old school Metal band who released the legendary "Cult of the Snake" demo in 2009 followed by the excellent Battlesword EP in 2010. Since both of the releases were sold out pretty fast, we decided to reissue the EP and the DEmo on one CD.

Musikalisch anzusiedeln im obskuren, musikalisch sehr simplen 80er Jahre-Heavy Metal, bieten die Herrschaften, deren Gitarrist Lord Python mittlerweile zusätzlich die Axt beim Hellhammer-Worship Warhammer schwingt, auf ihrem frischesten Output "Battlesword" (für das Cover zeichnete Breiti, in Kennerkreisen mittlerweile ein bereits gefragter Coverkünstler) sechs eingängige Headbanger-Orgien, dazu eine etwas kitschige, aber dennoch bei jedem Konzert verlangte Ballade namens "King Of The Road".
Gleich mit dem Opener "Will Of The Kobra" wird das Gaspedal ordentlich durchgedrückt und lässt kaum Zeit zum Entspannen, da man gerade durch das thrashige Feeling fast schon von selbst anfängt, mit der Rübe zu schütteln. Die weiteren Songs, mal eher rockig ("Steamhammer", "Demon Queen"), mal ultra-chaotisch schnell ("Divine Wind", "Kobra Krusader") oder danach geradezu hymnisch ("Heavy Metal Generation") gehen allerdings genauso in Mark und Bein eines jeden Headbangers und lassen die Bierpullen von selbst öffnen. Nörgler haben vielleicht etwas an dem leicht schiefen bzw. prolligen Gesang (den sich die beiden Gitarristen Lord Python und Sir Serpent aufteilen) auszusetzen, es mag ja auch nicht jedermanns Sache sein, dennoch fügt er sich genial und sehr passend in den herrlich 'kaputten', amateurhaften Old School-Metal ein (Jungs, so etwas sieht man bei uns als Kompliment, gelle?).
Ich sehe Iron Kobra auf jeden Fall als vertonte Kriegserklärung an getriggerte Krachmaten-Core-Bands und jegliche, unfunktionelle Höher-Lauter-Schneller-Kiddie-Bands! Jawoll, so was muss es einfach wieder vermehrt geben! Well done, Boys!

At the 8th of January, the three Nercronomicon reissues will finally be out. Watch out for another dose of traditional German 80ties Thrash Metal. All the CDs contain detailed liner notes and photo material. Especially the Debut album is a legendary German Thrash album, but also "Apocalyptic Nightmare" and "Escalation" are a must have for every Thrash fan.
Battle Cry Records is proud to anounce the release of the debut album of the German Power-Metal act METAL LAW for the 27th of January. The album is entitled "Night of the wolf and contains excellent 80ties Metal at ist best!!!
In March and April 2006, we will release further reissues from the GAMA backcatalog like Tyrant, Tyran Pace, Bloody Six and Stranger. Further details are given by the end January about this.

ARCTIC FLAME is a great new Epic-Power-Metal band from New Jersey, USA. The debut album "Primeval aggressor" contains 8 killer-songs that every fan of MANILLA ROAD and BROCAS HELM will love!!!
DEMONS SEED is a phantstic German Power-Metal band with a strong feeling to the glorious NWoBHM. Watch out for their ddebut album "Dawn of a new world".
BATTLE BRATT is the legendary US-Metal band that released their only album on a small German label in 1988. At the 10th of April, we will reissue this album with 4 bonus tracks from the demo-tape plus a full unreleased album named "The Anthology" recorded between 1984 and 1985.
Watch out for these two killer releases!!!!

At the 18th of April BATTLE CRY will release "Aftermath" and "Eye of the storm" by the legendary Florida Power-Metal-act POWERSURGE. Both CDs are packed with material never being released before on CD.
Every fan of their Debut-album, released by Roadruner in 1991, will definitely love this great material.

At the 29th of May, BATTLE CRY will release the 3rd album by Finland´s SPEED-METAL act SOLITAIRE.
Here Riku´s statement about the new album:

Soundwise the album is a bit brighter than "Extremely Flammable", it's more aggressive with a diamond hard guitar sound and drum thunder made of Sheffield Steel! We put a tremendous effort on this one and it took some time, but we feel we got it right, got the absolute best performance of the band and I think it's gonna be a killer album.
Musically there's no major changes (if any...!) We have more guitar harmonies this time, as if Iron Maiden would play insane thrash, it would probably sound like this... and I think there's more groove in the rhythm section, as if AC/DC would play ultra fast speed metal..."
BATTLE CRY also signed the new German Metal hopefuls METAL LAW, since we were very impressed by the bands first 3 Track demo "METAL OR DIE", which was still unreleased under the band´s former name RAPID FIRE. But due to other acts being called RAPID FIRE already, the band decided to change their name into METAL LAW. We may expect the debut album by the end of the year.

The 80's American Power Metal Band Reunites...
It was 1988 when Battle Bratt released their one and only self-title debut record in Europe and was reissued again in 1991; the record had later become a big success in the underground world of independent signed artists... The CD is now a highly sought after collectable item that can be frequently
found at auction on eBay selling for as much as ten times it's original price. In 1985 Battle Bratt appeared on the compilation record "Speed Metal Hell"; it is the song "Henchman" that set the stage for the beginning of the bands musical career over twenty years ago.
Battle Bratt is proud to announce the re-release of their highly sought after 1988 debut record and "The Anthology both on Battle Cry Records Europe this spring. The reissue will have a newly revised CD insert featuring a sixteen page booklet that will include lyrics to the songs, a legacy about the band, never before seen photos of the band from that era and the four song original "Winds Of Change" demo; the songs were later to be re-recorded professionally for the record. The bonus tracks will be placed on CD in
their original demo state with no major reproduction work. This power-packed, fist-pumping, head-banging set of goods makes the reissue a collector's item to own...

Bryan Hellroadie Patrick has decided to retire from the music business and Manilla Road.Bryan wants to devote more of his time to his family and to his personal future. This is not a bad parting of the ways for Bryan or for the other members of Manilla Road. Everyone is still friends and Manilla Road wishes Bryan the best of luck with his future. His sword shall be missed. May the gods fill his sails with fair winds. Manilla Road shall continue on as a 3-piece band at this point and so the Road goes on. Mark The Shark Shelton shall be going back to being the only lead vocalist instead of having two but Harvey will also be taking on some of the vocal duties as well. With Gates Of Fire we saw Manilla Road's sound head back towards it's epic roots and so now the line-up as well goes back to the roots of the band as a 3-piece Metal crew. DEMONS SEED are soon finished with the recordings of their Debut album "Dawn
of a new world". The album will be released by the end of the year.
The three SDI rereleases are delayed to the beginning of November, since we
are waiting for more bonus material.
SOLITAIRE will record their third album for BATTLE CRY Records. The band
will enter the studio by the end of 2005 and the album will be released in
spring 2006.

The STORMWITCH albums "Eye of the storm" and "The beauty and the beast" are
out now!!! Both contain a great packaging with 16 pages booklet, liner notes

The debut album of the excellent Italian Thrash-Metal band INSANE named
"Wait and pray" is also out now!!! The band will perform at the legendary
Keep it True Festival in Lauda-Königshofen this weekend, Saturday, the 2nd
of April!!!
Manilla Road finsihed the recordings of "Gates of Fire" by now! According to
the band, the album will be a real masterpiece of traditional Epic-Metal in
the classic 80ties MANILLA ROAD style!!!
Since several people asked questions about what will be released from the
GAMA catalog, here is the answer:
Anything of interest!!!
At this moment, Stefan from Karthago records, who obtained half of the
catalog, don´t have a fixed release schedule yet. This means that we will
decide  from one release to the other what we will release next. The
schedule of the releases also depends on how co-operative the bands are
regarding bonus material, liner notes, photos...
While the next releases on Karthago records will be the GRAVESTONE and
NOISEHUNTER albums, BATTLE CRY records will release the SDI albums next!!!

At the 7th of March, the STORMWITCH classics „The beauty and the beast“ and „Eye of the storm“ will follow, featuring fantastic live tracks as bonus.

Also at the 7th of March, the debut album of the Italian Thrash-Metal band INSANE will finally see the light of day! The band plays great 80ties Thrash, heavily influenced by the old SLAYER albums.

By the mid of 2005, BATTLE CRY RECORDS will then release the brandnew MANILLA ROAD studio album called "GATES OF FIRE". According to the band, this new album will be a true Epic-Metal masterpiece containing three trilogies. The band promised to record the most epic stuff possible that will drive all the fans of the band crazy!!!

BATTLE CRY RECORDS is proud to announce the signing of a very promising and talented new German 80ties Metal band called DEMONS SEED. The musical style is influenced by bands like IRON MAIDEN and other NWoBHM acts. Watch out for their debut album by the mid of this year!!!!

After the split of IRON GLORY Records, I decided to form my own label BATTLE CRY RECORDS. The label concept will obviously be similar to the one of IRON GLORY RECORDS, but I will even focus more on 80ties Metal by doing more reissues of Cult-Metal albums on BATTLE CRY, since my main goal is to put out music I really love personally. I would like make all my releases as fan for fans and for that reason, you will not see any release on BATTLE CRY that does not firt my personal style. This means that there will never ever be any Black-or Death-Metal releases as well as no modern Nu-Metal crap. Since my preferred styles range from Melodic Hard Rock to Thrash-Metal I will also focus on these styles. My first signings are all in the Metal range, but if I should sign more melodic bands in future, I will release them on the side label SUNSET records. This is because I want the fan to know before buying one of my releases, what he can expect of it.
The first release on BATTLE CRY will be a new album by the Italian 80ties METAL band GUNFIRE including besides 10 new tracks the original 4-song EP from 1984. Release date will be the 8th of November! A few weeks ago, I bought the rights for the whole GAMA Records catalog, yes, the old German Metal label of the 80ties. Since it is too much for me to release all the albums on my own, I decided to split them with two friends of mine. So Stefan Riermaier from
Karthago Records and Eddy Freiberger from Hardbeat Media Service will also release parts of the GAMA catalog. By the end of November I will put out the first releases of that 80ties Metal cult label starting with three albums, fans were waiting for years to get finally released on CD with original cover artwork, lyrics, liner notes, photos...
